Each 310g bag sold translates to $0.10 added to the producer’s Community Development Fund, or CDF. For every 2lb. bag sold, $0.30 is contributed to the CDF, and for every 5lb. bag sold, $0.60 is deposited to the CDF. In 2025, we contributed almost $1,000 USD alone to COMSA via their CDF, which converts to 26,560 Honduran Lempira!
Together with their Community Development Fund, COMSA is working with the UN to establish the Target Gender Equity Initiative. This program aims to support and enforce gender equity policies, run a Women’s Committee, and provide leadership and management training for both women and men. The overall goal is to increase women’s representation and leadership within the organization, especially at higher management levels.
